Visiting Your Sponsored Child
Planning a Visit
As a child sponsor, you have the option to visit your sponsored child. If you would like to schedule a visit, you should login to your SAF account and click the “child Visit” tab from the menu. Alternatively, you can click here.
On that page, you will find the form that you will need to complete in order to request a visit. You will also find our guidelines for child visits. Please review them to familiarize yourself with the rules. Lastly, we have also provided some talking points on the page in case you are worried about what to say when meeting your sponsored child for the first time.
Please note: As a rule, we ask that you complete and return these forms at least 6 weeks ahead of your planned trip.

Once Your Visit Is Approved
Once your visit has been approved, you will be responsible for arranging and funding your own travel and accommodation to and from the SAF International India field office.
Our team in India will arrange travel and cover costs to and from the field office and the sponsored child’s residence. If necessary, different arrangements can be made for greater convenience for both parties.
To ensure that you and the child get the most from this experience, we have a set of guidelines in place. These guidelines cover appropriate clothing, gift giving during your visits, cultural differences, and more.

Lastly, during your visit, a member of staff will be available to take pictures. These pictures will then be sent to you via email once you have arrived home.
Cancelling or Rescheduling Your Child Visit
If you wish to cancel your child visit for whatever reason, please email office@safinternational.org or call us on 604-572-5577 as soon as possible so that we can fill out the necessary paperwork.
If you need to reschedule your visit, please cancel the original request and then submit a new application form with the new dates and flight details.
